Japanese teenage golfer donates all his winnings to victims

Japanese teenage golfer, Ryo Ishikawa,  donates all this year’s earnings to victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Watch out for a new hero next week at the Masters Golf. A brilliant teenage golfer with a big heart.  The 19 year old announced yesterday that  he will donate all of his 2011 earnings to the Japanese earthquake relief fund. He will also dip into his savings and donate an extra  a further £750 for every birdie he makes this season.  Last year, as an 18 year old he earned around £250,000. ‘My goal is to raise 200 million yen (about £1.5million),’ he says.  Good luck Ryo.
